Community Group Grant

What is the Community Group Grant?

Our Community Group Grant aims to support the running costs of constituted groups within the community who deliver services or activities positively impacting tenants lives within ForHousing communities.

What is a constituted group?

A constituted is a group that has a written agreement of what they are going to do and how they will do it. Constitutions are important because they can help people to understand exactly why they are working together and can help them to plan how best to get things done.

How much funding can my group have and what can we spend it on?

Constituted groups that hold a lease for a premises can apply for grants up to £1,000, while those without can apply for up to £500. Groups can apply for money to pay for laptops, public liability insurance, training and utility bills.

How do we apply and what do we need for our application?

Please click here to apply.

Applications will be sent to the Community Development Team and to apply you must:

  • Be a constituted group. A constituted group is a group that is ran by committees who deliver the services/activities as well as running the organisation.
  • Send minutes from most recent AGM (within the last 12 months).
  • Send a copy of your Constitution and relevant policies for your group.
  • Send receipts as soon as the grant has been spent.

Groups can only apply for one Community Group Grant per financial year. For further information or support with completing your application, you can contact communities@forhousing.co.uk

Community Fund

Do you deliver activities in a ForHousing neighbourhood? You could be eligible for a Community Fund grant of up to £500!

The fund offers financial support to local groups so they can keep delivering services and projects in their community.

If this sounds like something you’d like to apply for, click here to fill in a short form.

The deadline to submit your applications is the first Friday of every month.

Before submitting an application, it’s important for you to understand the criteria and guideline as the Community Fund has recently been reviewed with the Community Voice to improve the application process and funding allocation.

What do we not fund?

  • Any costs spent before the grant is confirmed.
  • Projects that cannot be completed within 12 months of the grant being confirmed.
  • Applicants who have already received Community Fund within the same financial year. Applicants are asked not to apply again within the same financial year if they have already received a grant. This includes applications for a different project, if the same group organises it.
  • Applicants who have not provided feedback for previous successful applications, including receipts if they have been requested.
  • Applications which do not support ForHousing communities.
